Goodbye Mad Men! ‘Til we see each other again next season! It’s been only a few weeks since the season finale, and already we miss watching the show. Specifically, we miss feeling as though we’ve been teleported back to a time when anything paisley was a must, men’s suits were exciting and colorful, and using a scarf as a headband worked just as well as tying it around your neck to add color to your outfit.
Yes. Thanks to Don, Joan, Roger, Peggy and a host of other characters, Mad Men’s style has definitely caught on. And we’re not just talking about the clothes. But the sleek furniture.
The show takes us into 1960’s offices, homes, restaurants and apartments. And with each change of a scene, you’re introduced to new, fresh furniture designs. Sophisticated style. Low profiles. And clean lines. No super cushy cushions. But chic, colorful furniture that is designed to catch your eye the moment you enter a room.
The show has inspired us to introduce hints of 1960′s furniture style into our own assortment. The photo we’re featuring in this blog shows a low profile sofa with colorful accent pieces. It’s called the Avenue Collection, which is due in stores mid to late July 2013. So if you love the style and want the look, you’ll definitely need to swing by and see it first hand.
